  1. Does credit monitoring affect my credit score?
    No. Only when you ask a possible creditor to inquire about your credit can it affect your score. You as the consumer have the right to monitor your credit as much you like without any negative effects.
  2. What kind of events will trigger an alert?
    1. Any inquires to your credit file — Now that Debix will use feeds directly from your credit file you will be alerted anytime a lender even accesses your credit history with the intent of opening a new account, whereas with fraud alerts it was up to the lender's discretion to call or use other less reliable methods of verification. If you have not applied for any new lines of credit, you will be connected immediately to the OnCall team who will work with the lender to prevent any unauthorized accounts from being opened.
    2. Changes to existing account information including name and address — Existing account takeover is a serious problem that is difficult to resolve unless caught immediately. Anytime new personal information is introduced to your credit file, you will be notified with an alert call.

  3. What if I already have credit monitoring?
    Debix's credit monitoring differs from traditional credit monitoring because our alerts are mobile. You'll be alerted on your registered phone numbers anytime lenders view your credit file with the intent of opening new lines of credit, anytime personal information contained on your credit file is changed, and any time new accounts are opened in your name. Should any of this be an indication fraudulent activity, you will be immediately connected to an OnCall Investigator to work on your behalf with the lender to ensure a new fraudulent account is not opened, none of your existing accounts are taken over, and that any fraudulent accounts are removed from your credit file. Debix will also continue to provide full identity recovery and insurance.
  4. How does Debix contact me?
    Debix will contact you at up to three registered telephone numbers in your name.
  5. Does Debix keep my cell phone number private?
    Yes. Debix does not provide your personal phone numbers to banks or creditors.
  6. Can Debix call me at more than one number?
    Yes. Debix offers a Find Me feature that will call you at up to three phone numbers.
  7. What happens if I miss a call?
    If you are not available, Debix will leave a message on your voice mail box asking you to call 888-DebixMe (888-332-4963) to approve a request. When you return the call, Debix will play the request for your approval.
  8. Is the Debix warning call placed by a person or a computer?
    It is placed by our secure voice servers, so there is no delay.
  9. How can I be sure it is really Debix calling me?
    While Caller ID can be faked, you can be sure it is Debix calling when you hear your Voice Key played at the beginning of every call. During registration you will record a personal Voice Key by speaking a short phrase like "I am safe with Debix."
  10. Will Debix affect my ability to use my existing credit cards?
    No.
  11. Can a bank reject me because I am using Debix?
    Absolutely not - it is against the law. Contact Debix immediately if this occurs.
  12. Do I really need to worry about identity theft?
